The picture was discovered by app developer Steve Mosser, who also unclothed close to code about the watch inside the Ray-Ban Stories companion app — code that may betoken what the watch sack do.

The images seemingly reveals that the intention is a rounded square, not too dissimilar from an Apple Watch, with a metal case and (presumably) detachable straps.

Just that's not likely to make this view stand unfashionable, because there are incalculable other wearables that look virtually identical. So the camera is likely to atomic number 4 the most unique feature; the only question is how IT wish exist used.

According to Moser the code suggests that the television camera may be able to enamor photos and video, which can then be downloaded onto a joined phone. Bloomberg also posits that it could be in use for video calling, and in essence become a portable reading of Facebook's Portal range.

The Selective information reported earlier this twelvemonth that Facebook is working on its personal smartwatch, ready for relay sometime in middle-2022. Reported to a stick to-up report from The Scepter, the Facebook watch would include deuce cameras that buns contribution photos and video via Facebook's library of apps.

The front television camera was same to comprise primarily for television calling, while the bum camera would supposedly offer machine-focus and 1080p resolution to have shots whenever it's not being worn on your wrist. The Verge likewise claimed the watch out could support LTE connectivity and feature article a pulse rate monitor.

As for the watch's appoint, Bloomberg claims that IT could be called 'Milan', though we wouldn't be surprised if Facebook/Meta tried to work in Vena portae operating room Meta branding. Specially since the company is now rebranding some Oculus headsets as 'Meta' headsets.

However, the last cardinal may exist a bit trickier, since in that location's already been a smartwatch company called Meta. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out, though no doubt Facebook/Meta, being the behemoth that IT is, will puzzle over what it wants.

But whether the Meta watch can compete with the like the Apple Watch, Samsung Wandflower Ascertain 4 or other wearables is unclear. Especially given the privacy concerns around Facebook/Meta.
